Dearest Friend of Huston-Tillotson University,
It is with the utmost joy and delight that I pen this missive, extending to you a most cordial and heartfelt invitation to join us in celebrating a truly magnificent milestone—our Sesquicentennial! Yes, dear friend, for 150 years, Huston-Tillotson University has stood as a beacon of learning, excellence, and unwavering resolve, lifting up generations of bright minds destined to leave their mark on the world.
As we revel in the grandeur of this momentous occasion, I implore you to join us, at some point throughout this celebratory year, at one of the many splendid events we shall host. Each gathering will be a living testament to our university’s storied past, its present brilliance, and, most importantly, the illustrious future we build together. From elegant galas to thought-provoking lectures, there shall be much to inspire, engage, and uplift.
It is with great pride and perhaps a touch of triumphant elation that I share some most thrilling news—our beloved Huston-Tillotson University has been named the Top Private HBCU in the Great State of Texas for 2025 by none other than US News and World Report! What a glorious way to commence our Sesquicentennial, a truly historic designation that could not have come at a more fitting time.
Yet, as we celebrate this distinguished honor, I must turn your heart towards the next chapter of our grand narrative—one that requires the depth of your generosity and the breadth of your vision. We are embarking on a transformative giving campaign, a venture as bold as it is necessary, to ensure that our beloved institution continues to thrive for another 150 years. As such, I humbly ask that you consider bestowing upon Huston-Tillotson a transformational gift—one that will solidify your lasting legacy within the fabric of this great university. Your gift, no matter the size, will fortify our mission and bolster the dreams of countless students who walk our hallowed halls.
Our Sesquicentennial is more than a celebration of history—it is a clarion call to the future, and it is my deepest hope that you will answer that call. Let us write the next chapter of Huston-Tillotson’s legacy together, for in our hands lies the power to uplift, inspire, and transform.
